- VideoBeep 1.0D3
- by Eric Shapiro
-
- Note: This is the first test release of the program.
- It may be a bit buggy.
-
- At first, Macintosh beep sounds were dull. Then came
- digitized sounds. Now...VideoBeep gives you movie clips and
- animation.
-
- "VideoBeep" is a System Extension (INIT).
- To work properly, you must do the following:
- Place "QuickTime" in your System Folder (or Extensions Folder)
- (note: QuickTime is available only to Apple developers until
- the end of 1991. Please wait your turn.)
- Place "VideoBeep" in your System Folder (or Extensions Folder)
- Place a Movie file named "MovieTest" in the same folder
- Reboot your Mac
- Cause a System beep (open "Page Setup" & click outside the dialog)
-
-
- Notes:
- The "MovieTest" file must not have a space in the name.
- It may be an alias to a folder containing several Movie files. The
- Movie files will be played in order.
- If you change the "MovieTest" file in any way, reboot.
- If the Movie can't be played for some reason, the menubar will flash.
- "VideoBeep" currently takes up about 200K of System heap (sorry).
- The first time we play (after a reboot), several of the frames are lost.
- This will be fixed as soon as I get around to it.
- So as not to annoy you too much, we just flash the menubar if we're
- called in rapid succession (double beeping was really bugging me).
- To disable, drag the Extension out of the System or Extensions folder
- and reboot.
